The Autoarc was the carbon manufacturers answer to the Xenon arc
They were not successful so the lamp houses were converted for Xenon use
I never did work on the carbon type, but did use the Xenon conversions in 1977 for about a year
These were very prone to overheating, and damaged the internal wiring
They were taken out, and replaced with Cinemeccanica conversions
